CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Wikipedia describes Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as a form of business self-regulation, internal organizational policy or business strategy. For us at CCE, it simply is a way to solve society’s economic, social and environmental problems through creative & sustainable solutions. We believe in inclusive growth and making the society we live in a harmonious place that cultivates knowledge and provides a platform for sustainable development.
Over the years, we have been actively involved in several projects focused especially on children’s education and healthcare. We provide financial support for education of underprivileged children in India in an effort to improve their lives and those of their families. Investing in these kids also help in alleviating socio-economic disparities. CCE has been supporting this cause for more than a decade and is now actively involved in identifying and providing education to children from underprivileged families.

RECENT ACTIVITIES

Software Summer Camp @ CCE's India facility
CCE India strongly believes business activities have a wide impact on the society in which we operate. We believe in bringing the social change through empowering the most vulnerable members of underprivileged communities. As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility, supported by our own charitable foundation, we have been conducting summer camps for underprivileged children with an aim to make them job-ready by introducing them on the future trends in Electronics, Electrical and Information Technology.
Following the Robotics Camp last year, CCE's India facility conducted a training camp on HTML basics and JavaScript for the underprivileged students in the age group of 12-17 years. The programmers from our Software Development division trained the students on language concepts including syntax, operators, statements, loops, functions and events. The participants were given practical exercises based on real-time examples and projects.
We want to ensure that the lesser privileged children get the exposure as those in the higher strata of society so that they can also be equally competitive when they face the corporate world in future. Towards the end of the two weeks’ course, students were given a participation certificate.
Robotics Summer Camp @ CCE's India facility
We conducted a summer camp from April 30th to May 11th 2018 at our India facility for kids studying in grades 7-11. Although the camp was open to everyone, including kids of employees, the focus was to expose kids being supported by our charitable foundation to Robotics, who otherwise might not have had the exposure to STEM concepts or Robotics as part of their curriculum. We had a total of 6 kids enrolled for the camp.
The camp was designed and conducted entirely by employee volunteers. Kids were exposed to fundamental concepts of Physics, Electrical, Mechatronics and CAD in a fun-filled environment. They used CAD tools to generate ideas and create designs. By the end of the camp, the kids, with the help of their mentors, created working models of 4-5 different types of robots and had the opportunity to demo their robots and field questions in an expo-like setting. Certificate of participation were issued to all the kids who attended the camp.
