Solar Spring & Wire, an automotive supplier based in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, uses our engineering services on a regular basis to convert 2D CATIA drawings provided by a customer to a Unigraphics solid model. "I decided to try CCE for a single project," said Emilio Ortega, Quality Director for Solar Spring. "I sent them a CATIA file containing a series of 2D drawings that defined the geometry for the customer's part and asked them to provide a Unigraphics solid model. They called me back several times to ask questions about the part to make sure they understood the design intent. When they sent over the Unigraphics solid model there were just a few minor problems. I called the company and explained them and they sent a new model to me in a few hours with the problems fixed. I was happy with the results so from that point on I have sent about 50 CATIA customer drawings to them. They learned well from that first project and from that point on their work has been virtually letter perfect."
