CCE Updates Unified Parasolid Interface (UIOp) Libraries with New CAD Format Support
Current Release Now Supports Rhino and ACIS

Farmington Hills, Mich. (Dec. 09, 2014) – CCE, a leading provider in advanced interoperability technology and engineering services, has released a new update of its Unified Interop (UIOp) libraries, version 29.5.

"UIOp provides an extremely powerful, yet easy-to-deploy interface to translate multiple CAD formats to Parasolid," said Vinay Wagle, CCE's VP of Marketing and Sales. "With UIOp's unified API, our ISV partners have been able to implement the technology in less than a day, compared to the weeks it normally takes to integrate such broad CAD interop support," added Wagle.

UIOp now also provides read access to parts and assemblies from Creo 3.0, Solid Edge ST7, and Autodesk Inventor 2015. In addition, support has been added to translate Rhino and ACIS files to Parasolid.

UIOP.

A new option is now provided to select the configuration of the file to be translated; this feature is available for SOLIDWORKS and Solid Edge. There is also a significant enhancement in the performance of all the Parasolid translators in UIOp.

The CATIA V5 translator in UIOp now supports CGR files and Multi-CAD assemblies. Sketch entities are now created under separate groups in order to enable applications to create model trees, as is, in CAD software. In addition, assembly support has been enhanced to search for missing components in user specified folders, besides translating the parts in the assembly.

The CATIA V6 translator has been enhanced to support Publication entities for bodies, faces, and vertices. This is already available for the CATIA V5 translator and the implementation of Publication entities is via user-defined attributes. Publication is a very useful concept in CATIA V5/V6 product design to identify or expose a geometric entity, in a model, with a unique user-provided name. The entity can be functionally important for downstream processes or used by applications for automating tasks in their domain (Assembly Design or Analysis, etc.)

Likewise, the Solid Edge translator has been enhanced to support assembly level features and entity persistence ID for bodies and their associated faces.

About Unified Interop (UIOp):

Unified Interop (UIOp) is a set of CAD independent interoperability libraries for Parasolid-based CAx Systems that provide read access to information stored in 3D CAD files via a unified architecture. UIOp is an additional 'layer' created on top of CCE's robust ODX libraries and converts native CAD files to Parasolid. UIOp supports latest versions of CATIA V4, V5, V6, Creo, SOLIDWORKS, Solid Edge, JT, Inventor, Rhino, ACIS, IGES, STEP, STL, and VDA formats. The libraries are supported on Windows 7, 8, and Linux (RHEL, SUSE) platforms.
